I don't think of myself foremost as a programmer. It is my profession and one of biggest pastimes. But it's not how I necessarily want to be remembered.
I like programming because it helps me do other things that I want or need to do. And this is why I like Python: it's a great language for people who are interested in doing things other than code but need code to do them.
With that said, here's the Python tutorial I started for a friend who knows programming but hasn't done it in a while and was looking to get started with Python.
Note: this tutorial assumes familiarity with basic programming concepts, such as functions, classes, and control flows. If these are completely alien to you, you may want to start by reviewing an introductory programming course online.
